The North Sydney Swimming Club is composed of THREE groups.

1. Learning the Swimming Craft

North Sydney Swimming Club is proud to have Stephen Badger as their swimming coach.Stephen has several groups who swim on a regular basis to develop their learn to swim abilities and some go forward to higher levels. Stephen teaches at ALL levels through Badger Swim School

Dolphins: Our introductory level of squad in which the children continue developing the four competitive strokes whilst gradually increasing the physical aspect of training. Technique improvement is achieved through a combination of stroke and sculling drills and improved fitness. Instruction in racing dives and turns is also part of this program.
Sessions are of 45 min duration and participants are required to have good technique in Freestyle, Breaststroke and Backstroke and some Fly.

Barracudas: This level of squad is for those students endeavouring to improve their racing skills. Preparation for school level competition is a major focus of this group. There is continued development of technique and an increased emphasis on interval training.
Sessions are of 1 hr duration and participants are required to have good technique in all four competitive strokes as well as dives and turns. Each student is required to have their own set of flippers for speed and stroke correction training.

Piranhas: Training in this group is focussed on preparation for Local, District and State level competition.
Sessions are of 1 ½ hrs duration and participants are expected to train a minimum of three sessions per week during the competitive season.

Sharks: The focus of this group is State, National Age and Open competition.
Sessions are of 1 ½- 2 hrs duration and participants are expected to train from four to seven sessions per week during the competitive season, with an additional dry-land program.

Masters: An adult squad for those wanting to prepare for Masters competitions, triathlons, ocean swims or just to keep fit.

2. Further Competitive Swimming

This group of swimmers are individually taught by Stephen Badger, an international and Olympic swimming medalist, who has continued to train and produce swimmers of the highest calibre.

The focus of this group is Area Carnivals, State Age, National Age and Open competition.
